Scan

We visit every page on your site β€” just like a real person would. We log in, click through menus, fill out forms, and check that everything works with a keyboard alone.

Understand

Our tools look at your pages the way assistive technology does β€” screen readers, keyboard navigation, and more. Every issue is linked to a specific rule with a confidence score. We also use vision AI to check whether alt-text actually matches what's in the image, not just whether the attribute is present.

Report

You get a clear overview β€” what passed, what failed, and what still needs a human eye. Transfer findings directly to your accessibility statement on uustatus.no, or export as structured Markdown and feed it straight into Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot to fix issues without manual copy-paste.

See it in action

From scan to finished report
in minutes, not weeks.

48 criteria for public sector.
35 for private.

We know the difference.

Rules that still apply

Some requirements were removed from the international standard but still count under Norwegian law. We flag them clearly so you don’t miss anything.

Apps vs. websites

Native apps have different rules than websites. Tell us what you’re building and the report adjusts automatically.

Third-party content

Embedded maps, chat widgets, video players. We identify them and flag them separately, so nothing gets swept under the rug.

Honest results

Every item is clearly marked as verified by the tool or needing a human check. No inflated scores. You see exactly what we tested and what still needs your attention.

Common questions

Does Synli replace manual accessibility review?
No β€” but Synli goes much further than scanners that only detect roughly 30–40% of WCAG issues and leave the rest to you. Synli drafts a complete accessibility assessment for every WCAG criterion except one β€” 2.3.1, the flashing-content criterion, which still requires a human to watch through video and animation content. For everything else, Synli combines automated checks with AI-assisted analysis and structured reasoning about each page. A reviewer still has to validate the draft and sign it off before the report is final, but the work shifts from 'find every issue from scratch' to 'review and confirm Synli's findings' β€” dramatically faster and far less error-prone.
Which standards does Synli test against?
Synli tests against WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 at level AA, which also covers the technical requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and the harmonised standard EN 301 549. You can configure the applicable profile per scan β€” public sector, private sector, web or native app β€” and the relevant criteria set adjusts automatically.
What is the difference between 48 and 35 criteria?
Norwegian public-sector websites must meet 48 WCAG success criteria under the regulations for universal design of ICT. Private-sector companies in scope for the EAA are generally held to 35 criteria β€” the WCAG 2.1 AA set minus a few that were removed or deferred. Synli maps your organisation type and geography to the correct set automatically, and flags the extra Norwegian requirements clearly so nothing is missed.
How does Synli connect to uustatus.no?
Synli structures its scan report in a format that maps directly to the uustatus.no accessibility statement template used by Norwegian public-sector organisations. You get a clear breakdown of which criteria pass, fail, or are partially met β€” ready to transfer to the statement. Automated statement drafting is available on the Pro plan.
What does the confidence score and 'needs human check' label mean?
Some findings can be confirmed with certainty by automated analysis β€” for example, a button with no accessible name. Others involve heuristics or AI-assisted review, where the tool can flag a likely issue but cannot be definitive without context. These are shown as 'needs human check' with a confidence score. You must review and confirm or override them before the report is considered complete.
Is Synli suitable for private-sector companies as well as public sector?
Yes. The European Accessibility Act requires many private-sector companies β€” including e-commerce, banking, transport, and media services β€” to meet accessibility requirements from June 2025. Synli supports both public and private compliance profiles and will apply the correct criteria set based on your organisation's sector, geography, and audience.
Can Synli scan pages that require login?
Yes. Synli supports authenticated scanning through stored credentials (form login, HTTP headers, cookies) and an interactive login option where you log in directly in a secure embedded browser. Interactive login works with OAuth, two-factor authentication, and SSO β€” without Synli ever seeing your password.
